HISTORY OF THE AWARD:

Austria Republic / Tyrol Voluntary Service Medal in the Fire and Rescue Services (Medaille Tätigkeit im Feuerwehr und Rettungswesen) - The medal is awarded in two grades: Bronze (for 25 years) and Silver for 40 years). The award made of bronze (Bronze Grade) and silver-plated bronze (Silver Grade). It depicts the Tyrolean eagle on the obverse and the pictorial representation of St. Florian, surrounded by the inscription Für 25 / 40jährige freiwillige Dienste in der Feuerwehr und im Rettungswesen” (For 25 / 40 years of voluntary service in the fire and rescue services” on the reverse. The trifold ribbon is to be plain yellow for both grades. Both grades are maker marked: Kölblinger / Innbruck (Kölblinger Gold- u Silberschmiede GesmbH & Co KG).
